Création 2014 La saga des Géants

Mémoires d’août 1914

Liverpool, Royaume-Uni

Ouest-France - 25/07/2014

« For two days prior to the event, St George’s Hall was transformed into a mausoleum, as crowds paid respect to a recumbent grandmother in size 25 slippers. That’s close to the capacity of Anfield turning out for an art installation in a city where giants have become more popular than football.  »

The Guardian - 28/07/2014

Ouest France - 25/07/2014

« More than a million people came out to see the Giants on what will go down as one of Liverpool’s most unforgettable weekends.  »

Liverpool Echo - 28/07/2014

« They say things are bigger in Texas. In fact, things are really bigger in Liverpool, where gargantuan divers emerge from the Mersey, carrying messages from the Titanic. Liverpool’s undiminished appetite for colossi was confirmed by the fact that 42,000 people queued to see the latest show from French street theater specialists Royal de Luxe before it had even started. For two days prior to the event, St Georges’s Hall was transformed into a mausoleum, as crowds paid respect to a recimbent grandmother in size 25 slippers. That’s close to the capacitu of Anfield turnng out for an art installation in a city where giants have become more popular than football.  »

The Guardian - 28/07/2014

« Wow, What a week-end. What an incredible weekend for our city. It wasn’t a once-in-a-lifetime experience, it was the second in a lifetime experience – and now we’re all being greedy and hoping for a hat-trick !  »

Liverpool Echo - 28/07/1914

« (….) We thank the Giants (and,of course, the great many people who operated them !) We thank the brilliant French street theater company Royal de Luxe for again creating so many magnificient and magical memories for so many of us. (…) Liverpool is so fortunate to have hosted the Giants twice – but let’s dare to dream again and keep our fingers crossed for a third visit !  »

Liverpool Echo - 28/07/1914

« Mayor Anderson said : « I got enjoyment and lots of satisfaction from people that got excited – seeing the joy on people’s faces was amazing. It’s undoubtedly the biggest event that’s been staged in the city. « I saw the cards and the flowers that people left in St George’s Hall. They read, « Thank you, Nan ». It was not ‘Grandmother’ they wrote – it was ‘Nan’a very Liverpool thing »

Liverpool Echo - 29/07/1914
