The great break-out
At the invitation of the Scène Nationale, Le Channel, Royal de Luxe presented from the 29th of September to the 3rd of October 2021 an original artistic proposal, resolutely inscribed in and for Calais. Over the course of the days, the public attended a permanent theatrical contemplation for a few minutes only or for many hours, as they wished.
For you, they got into their heads to tell the impossible story of convicts who are always busy escaping. This would be normal, except that these prisoners want to escape from one prison to another. They have accepted life imprisonment! This is the "great escape" that all the prisoners are waiting for. In any case, they are only passing through the penitentiary of the Place Crèvecœur.
To date, it is impossible to know how they intend to disembark or to imagine their escape plan. A guard will be specially assigned to keep an eye on them and the police will be notified; although they are not considered dangerous (their records have long been lost and they claim to be victims of a miscarriage of justice), the prison administration is making a point of keeping them.
In fact, they are known in all the prisons of the world and are a legend. They are brothers, descendants of the Crèvecœur family, and a particularity: they take their convict sister with them... And no way to get close to her! Otherwise they are as gentle as lambs, and kindly accept the food that passers-by can give them (when the guard's back is turned).
During the day, when they feel like it, they have tattoo contests and develop a thousand occupations outside their compulsory work. Don't expect to see any drama (they hate it). They are quietly going about their daily lives as if they were scooping out the ocean with a spoon. In secret they knit with time to keep it warm and escape in the milky way.
